OUR MOVEMENT
What, Why, & How!
How Women Invest is disrupting the venture capital industry to create a more equitable playing field for women by:

Investing exclusively in women-led companies.
Creating an onramp for other women investors
Leveraging top operators in the industry to help women-led companies scale

Women, especially women of color, are underrepresented in business and in all parts of the venture capital system - as investors, board members, general partners, founders, and CEOs. We're changing that.
Entrepreneurs
Only 2.4% of US venture funds invested in solely female-founded & led teams
Persistent Bias and abuse
in venture investing process

Corporate Leadership
Only 7% of F500 Companies
are run by Women

NO Women on Boards
Only 5% of GPs are Women
16% are Investment partners
90% of Women-led venture

The current venture landscape is looking over the gold mine
of incredible and worthy women founders and that's where we come in.
Unlike the majority of the participants in venture and investing, we see
the potential in women founders, and we get them.

When women make investment decisions, 40% of their investments are to women.
Women founders make more for their investors, black women return the most.
Women founders hire 6 x more women with equal pay.
We can harness and change the paradigm for good!
-
By 2025, Women will inherit $28 Trillion
-
By 2030, Women will control 66% of US Wealth
If just 30% of accredited women invested only $50k each, we could:
-
Drive ~$50 Billion to female founders, funded by women-led venture funds
-
Return $4.4 trillion to women LPs
-
Create millions of jobs
-
Fuel economic growth and disrupt inequity

"Starting How Women Invest with Julie, Erika, and a group of like-minded women has been the greatest joy of my career – I am personally dedicated to changing the 2% of venture investments going to female founders and so grateful that I’ve been able to make an impact through our fund – and we are just getting started!"

First experience as a Founding LP in HWI Fund I and the opportunity to impact in a compelling way in moving women forward economically and as business owners to IPO and beyond.

I am grateful for the opportunity to join this Fund and work with many talented and compassionate women investors and leaders who are determined to empower women founders and make an impact in the world.

Vanessa Small
The stats for investment in women founders, especially women of color are abysmal. I want to be a part of the change that I want to see in VC.
